DISH-concept integrated into Master’s course at University of Applied Sciences Neubrandenburg/Germany
Digitalisation and Social Structural Change is a new Master’s programme at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences. Thomas Karopka, member of the DISH-project German Triple Helix, is lecturer for the eHealth module of the Master`s programme. The eHealth module provides an overview of digitization in the field of health. The digital transformation offers many opportunities for healthcare, but also poses major challenges for the players. Rural areas can benefit from the location- and time-independence of digital offerings. On the one hand, the module teaches the basics, on the other hand, practical examples are shown. The topics of the DISH project, innovation readiness, change management and digital skills of the healthcare workforce were integrated into the course and are now and integral part of this module.
The degree programme especially trains professionals for the challenges of digital and social structural change. It qualifies, for example, for senior or managerial positions with a coordination or interface focus on social institutions, public administrations, companies and independent organisations, rehabilitation institutions, political organisations, associations and consulting firms.
Graduates of the Master’s degree in Digitisation and Social Structural Change have professionally relevant as well as scientifically based competences, especially in interdisciplinary technology-oriented project and process management in social, health and planning institutions and in administration. The DISH concepts provide a valuable addition and will qualify the students to take over leading positions were skills training and change management is a key requirement.
